Florida has been a battleground state for LGBTQ+ rights due to a recent spate of restrictive laws. Among them is the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law, officially known as the The Parental Rights in Education Act, which prevents discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity in schools Last year, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an expansion of the bill to limit pronoun use in schools and place additional limitations in high schools. So what’s it like for teachers and students dealing with these changes? We spend a year with them to find out.
